Outlook 2007

POP3

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007.
  2. Click on "Tools → Account Settings..."
  3. To add a new account, click on the "New" button.
  4. Select "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP"
  5. Put a check in the box at the bottom next to "Manually configure server settings or additional server types"
  6. Select Internet E-mail
  7. Fill in the following information:
    • Your Name: Your Name Here
    • Your Email Address: youremail@addresshere.com
    • Account Type: POP3
    • Incoming mail server (POP3): secure-email-8.luxsci.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): secure-email-8.luxsci.com
    • User Name: youremail@addresshere.com
    • Password: YourPasswordHere
    • Do NOT check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
  8. Click "More Settings..."
    • Click on the"Outgoing Server" tab:
      • Check the box labeled "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
      • Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
    • Click on the "Advanced" tab:
      • Under "Incoming Server (POP)":
        • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
        • Port Number: 995
      • Under "Outgoing Server (SMTP)":
        • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
        • Port Number: 465
      • Under "Delivery":
        • Set the server to either save or remove messages based on your preferences
    • Press "OK" to close this window
  9. Press "Next" followed by "Finish"
    • If Outlook fails, go back and check your settings carefully, or give Compucast a call and we can help diagnose the problem.

IMAP

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007.
  2. Click on "Tools → Account Settings..."
  3. To add a new account, click on the "New" button.
  4. Select "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP"
  5. Put a check in the box at the bottom next to "Manually configure server settings or additional server types"
  6. Select Internet E-mail
  7. Fill in the following information:
    • Your Name: Your Name Here
    • Email Address: youremail@addresshere.com
    • Account Type: IMAP
    • Incoming mail server: secure-email-8.luxsci.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): secure-email-8.luxsci.com
    • User Name: youremail@addresshere.com
    • Password: YourPasswordHere
    • Do NOT check "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
  8. Click "More Settings..."
    • Click on the"Outgoing Server" tab:
      • Check the box labeled "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
      • Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
    • Click on the "Advanced" tab:
      • Under "Incoming Server":
        • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
        • Port Number: 993
      • Under "Outgoing Server (SMTP)":
        • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
        • Port Number: 465
      • Root folder path: mail
    • Press "OK" to close this window
  9. Press "Next" followed by "Finish".
